PACS and Medical Imaging Services

Fields Consulting Services provides a broad range of PACS-related, Radiology, and Medical Imaging services. These services address key areas requisite to the successful procurement, implementation, and use of medical imaging systems. We have experience addressing the requirements of imaging clients representing the complete spectrum of organizations from imaging centers to large healthcare systems. We have managed or provided support for acquisition, overseen implementation, and/or provided post-implementation “harvesting” support for enterprise imaging systems. We invented the term “Community” PACS, referring to cross-continuum-of-care imaging systems that include hospitals, clinics, imaging centers, referring physician offices, and at-home access to imaging information.

One of the keys to the successful implementation of a medical imaging system is the appropriate level of participation by all of the stakeholders. PACS failures are often initiatives driven only by clinical departments or only by the IT organization -- or by only hospital/imaging center personnel, without referring physician involvement.
