Typical Approach:

  • Define the Portion(s) of the Department / Center to be Modeled and Assessed
  • Design the Experiment
  • Define Success Criteria and Improvement Criteria
  • Collect Data from Automated Systems (e.g., RIS, PACS, EHR), Manual Processes (if and as required), and Observation
  • Analyze Data; Decompose the Problem
  • Determine the Order in Which Each Portion of the Department / Center is to be Modeled
  • Develop, Test, and Validate Appropriate Model(s): Iterate Development as Required
